Who is Chef Ember Hayes?

I’m Emberthe recipe developer, writer, and chief taste-tester behind DishGrub.

I started DishGrub with one simple mission: to prove that “comfort food” doesn’t have to mean “complicated.”

Like many of you, I grew up loving the smell of a slow cooker bubbling away and the warmth of a fresh casserole coming out of the oven. But I also know the reality of modern life in the USA. I know what it’s like to be busy, juggling jobs and endless to-do lists. I want that nostalgic, homemade taste, but I often only have 30 minutes to make it happen.

That is where I come in.

My “No-Fail” Promise to You

I treat DishGrub differently than those massive food sites. I don’t just publish recipes; I test them.

Every recipe you find herefrom my Garlic Lemon Sheet Pan Chicken to my holiday Green Bean Casserolehas gone through my own kitchen first.

  • Simple Ingredients: I stick to ingredients you can find at your local Walmart, Target, or Kroger. I hate hunting for obscure spices, so I won’t make you do it either.
  • Clear Instructions: I write for home cooks, not professional chefs.
  • Real Comfort: I focus on the food that makes me feel goodhearty pastas, cheesy bakes, and desserts that taste like home.

My Philosophy

I believe that:
