Description

A comforting and cozy Beef Stroganoff featuring tender sirloin, sautéed onions, and mushrooms in a creamy sour cream sauce, served over egg noodles or rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Egg noodles or rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until it softens.
  3. Add the beef strips and cook until they brown.
  4. Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook until they soften.
  5. Sprinkle the flour evenly over the skillet mixture.
  6. Stir the flour into the meat and vegetables to coat.
  7. Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring continuously.
  8. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens to a smooth consistency.
  9. Reduce the heat to low to prevent curdling.
  10. Stir in the sour cream and Worcestershire sauce until the sauce becomes creamy.
  11. Season the stroganoff with salt and pepper to taste.
  12. Serve the stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice while hot.

Notes
