Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup chicken broth (or water)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Lightly grease the slow cooker or use a liner.
- Pour in about 1/2 to 3/4 cup chicken broth.
- Rub chicken breasts with olive oil or melted butter.
- Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Place the chicken in the slow cooker in a single layer if possible.
- Cook on LOW for about 2 1/2 to 4 hours, checking at 2 hours.
- When done, the chicken should be opaque and easy to slice, aiming for 165°F in the thickest part.
- Let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing or shredding.
Notes
Check the chicken early to avoid drying out. Season both sides for best flavor. Store leftovers with a spoonful of cooking liquid for moisture.
