Description

A comforting, cheesy casserole dish with ground beef, pasta, and creamy sauce that’s perfect for busy nights.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pasta (elbow macaroni or rotini)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic (or garlic powder)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom or cream of cheddar soup
  • 1 cup milk or broth
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • Optional toppings: diced pickles, crispy onions, sesame seeds, or chopped tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Boil your pasta in salted water and drain it when it’s just a little firm.
  3. Brown the ground beef in a skillet. Add chopped onion if you’re using it. Season with salt and pepper. Drain extra grease.
  4. Stir in garlic, ketchup, mustard, and your creamy soup. Add a splash of milk or broth to make it stirrable.
  5. Mix the cooked pasta into the beef mixture. Taste it and adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Pour everything into the baking dish and top with a layer of cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, until bubbly and the cheese is melted.
  8. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
