Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt together.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk.
- Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet.
- Cut a deep cross on top of the loaf to help it cook evenly.
- Bake for about 30 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Let cool on a wire rack before slicing.
